UFO DAYS!

We're opening up our classroom to you, to let you get to work on those pesky unfinished objects piled up in your sewing room! PLEASE NOTE: If the shop isn't busy, we may be able to help with questions, but there is no instructor scheduled for UFO days. Bring your friends or make new ones and use our tables, cutting boards and irons. You'll find that you can help each other and enjoy a day away from stress and interruptions. As a bonus, you'll get a 10% discount on purchases made during your UFO Day! Cost: $10; bring your sewing machine or reserve one of ours. Classroom limited to 6 attendees.

MODERN SNAILS BY ANDREW LEE

In this class, Andrew will show you a new way to make a traditional "Virginia Reel" or "Snail's Trail" design. He has modernized it, adding narrow sashing, cornerstones and a wide border. What makes this class special is that Andrew will cut your pieces using his AccuQuilt machine. The precision cuts make your piecing easier and more accurate. Just precut your fabrics into sections as described in the prep sheet (available at the shop or download below). Andrew Lee, aka CombatQuilter, is known nationwide for his incredibly detailed mosaic quilt depicting the raising of the American flag at Iwo Jima. He is a veteran of three combat tours in the Middle East, and took up quilting to help him cope with PTSD. In quilting, he found more than a therapeutic hobby. He found a new mission, encouraging other veterans, teaching, and making quilts of valor for other veterans. He currently teaches for the U.S. Army and works as a long arm quilter.
